Apple explains iPad Pro build process in response to bending concerns

The document explains how every cellular iPad model undergoes a special manufacturing process called co-molding.

The key line is that Apple believes the "deviations" are only visible from the side, not when the device is being looked at from the front, which is Apple saying concerned customers are once again looking at the device wrong.

A few weeks back, a growing number of iPad Pro users began noticing a subtle bend in the chassis of their iPad Pros. The company wants customers to know that this amount of deviation is perfectly normal and does not compromise the strength or durability of the tablet, and the company encourages customers that feel their tablet has bent more than is acceptable to either return the tablet or send it in under warranty.

He might not be there yet but I think it would be foolish for one of the top clubs not to look at him now and seriously think about taking him.

Apple on Friday posted a new support page to explain that some new iPad Pro devices might have "subtle deviations in flatness" where the antenna is located, but it also downplayed the problem as these deviations would be "imperceptible during normal use".

The new design of the iPad Pro and the manufacturing method might make any bend in the frame more visible to the naked eye from certain angles. "After the plastic cools, the entire enclosure is finished with a precision CNC machining operation, yielding a seamless integration of plastic and aluminum into a single, strong enclosure".

If my inbox is anything to go by, there's one question about the new iPhone 6s that Apple hasn't answered satisfactorily - does it bend?

Jeremy Corbyn Dashes 'People's Vote' Hopes And Backs Fresh Brexit Deal
My message to Parliament this weekend is simple: it is time to forget the games and do what is right for our country. In the first, MPs backed an amendment aimed at making it more hard to leave the European Union without a deal.

Do you have a new iPad Pro? 400 microns is roughly the thickness of four sheets of paper, and when taking into account the tablet's new design, minor deviations can be much easier to notice than with previous models. But it is imperceptible during normal use - and I use this iPad every day. Since then I've acquired a 10.5-inch iPad Pro and Apple's Smart Keyboard. The company completely ignores evidence to the contrary, however, such as the video by JerryRigEverything that showed a 2018 iPad Pro bending like a paperback book with minimal pressure.

Despite this, several of the bent iPad Pro pictures that users shared show noticeable warps that appear to be greater than 400 microns. They're faster, offer more storage, are slightly smaller and cost more. The newer 2018 Apple Pencil is a much more appealing proposition, with wireless magnetic charging and the way it just clips to the side of the iPad Pro rather than having to be plugged awkwardly into a port.
