In the new book The Sopranos Sessions by authors Matt Zoller Seitz and Alan Sepinwall, "Sopranos" creator David Chase dishes on the show's infamous ending, with Tony (the late James Gandolfini) and his family sitting in a New Jersey ice cream parlour when the scene abruptly cuts to black.

David Chase's groundbreaking mafia drama first aired in the U.S. on January 10 1999 and viewers spent six seasons following the trials and tribulations of New Jersey mob boss Tony Soprano, played by the late James Gandolfini. The film, titled The Many Saints of Newark, features Alessandro Nivola playing Dickie Moltisanti (father of Christopher Moltisanti). "The Many Saints of Newark" takes place during a time period when the mafia was thriving in NY and by extension was a huge part of the scene in New Jersey as well.

"I'm not going to answer that question", he reportedly said when asked point blank if Tony had died in that moment. In addition to Dickie and Tony, a much younger Junior Soprano will be involved, as well as many other characters from the original series.
