Apple's Health Records Help Veterans to Get Access to Their Medical Data
Apple's Health Records is enabled by VA Health API, which was part of the organization's Blue Button initiative to give veterans more control of their health and medical information and allow third-party developers to build applications to promote more effective use of that data.
The government agency and the Silicon Valley tech giant jointly announced that the Health app included with every iPhone will soon be able to sync with certain types of medical records that, up to this point, have only been available through My HealtheVet, the VA's online Web portal. With this new feature, veterans will be able to readily access details about their vaccinations, medications, lab results, and more.
To protect unauthorized parties from getting their hands on these records, the data is encrypted and the phone is protected by a passcode, Touch ID or Face ID. The company announced on Monday that the VA would be the newest provider to allow remote access to medical records.
Savage Released on Bond Pending Deportation Hearing
She'yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, 26, was detained at the beginning of the month for living in the United States on an expired visa. ICE held 21 Savage in the state of Georgia for being unlawfully present in the USA and for being a felon.
"We're excited to bring this feature to veterans across the USA", said Kevin Lynch, Apple's vice president of Technology.
For those not in the know, Apple Health Records lets patients aggregate health records from multiple institutions alongside their patient-generated data.
The VA provides service to veterans over 1,243 facilities all over the U.S. "It's truly an honor to contribute to the improved healthcare of America's heroes". All these entities, plus Apple and others, may ultimately be angling to fill prescriptions and act as a broker for other health services.
Why Elon Musk's Tesla Mannequin Y Might Dominate SUV Market
Lastly, the brand new Gigafactories in Nevada and China gave Musk the arrogance he has with regards to producing these SUVs. This is just a month a way, and it is uncertain if Musk himself will be the one to pull the curtains off the new auto .
"Given Apple's public and ongoing commitment to privacy and security and the holistic manner in which they go about providing a trusted platform in iOS, I would think Apple's health records on iPhone is likely the most secure way in which veterans can access their VA health records", Weidman said.
"When patients have better access to their health information, they have more productive conversations with their physicians", said Jeff Williams, Apple's COO.
Apple did not mention when VA records would be brought onboard.
