Russell Westbrook sets National Basketball Association record with 10 consecutive triple-doubles

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook recorded his 10th straight triple-double Monday, surpassing Wilt Chamberlain for the longest streak in National Basketball Association history.

The Thunder star recorded his 10th consecutive triple-double in Oklahoma City's 120-111 win over the Trail Blazers.

The 2016-17 MVP savoured the moment in a contest which he finished with 21 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists.

Westbrook has now recorded 23 triple-doubles this season but his record-breaking effort looked unlikely at one stage on Monday night, as he only had five assists to his name with eight minutes left in the game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars , Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins are among the teams expected to add new quarterbacks. His contract carries cap hits of $18.50 million for 2019, $20.25 million in 2020 and $24.25 million in 2021.

"I thought he had it already", George said. George scored 21 points and Felton added 15. "I've got all the confidence in him".

"I go out and compete every night and leave it on the floor", Westbrook said. Three minutes later with less than a minute remaining, George found Russ for a deep trey to complete his first triple-double in OKC colors. It was his league-leading 23rd triple-double of the season.

"We talked about it right before that play, we talked about it", George said. But he told me the situation.

Westbrook received a standing ovation from those in attendance at Chesapeake Energy Arena after dishing out his 10th assist in the game, and it was fitting that the feat occurred in Oklahoma City.

British pop star Dua Lipa wins Grammy for Best New Artist
While Dua Lipa may not feel super new to us (I'm sorry, where was her Grammy for "IDGAF"?!), she's technically a new artist. Her friends and family cheered on the star as she shouted and danced upon hearing the impressive news.

"Nah, no pressure", Westbrook said of paying off George's pass to get him the triple-double.

Westbrook is third all time on the career triple-double list at 127, just 11 away from Magic Johnson for second all time.

George poured in a magnificent 47 points, laid on 10 assists and took 12 rebounds. "I'm very, very blessed to be able to go out and play, and I don't take it for granted".
