Bears to sign safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

Committing to one year of Clinton-Dix could allow the Bears to draft a safety to potentially be a cheap, long-term replacement (and the Bears found their prior safety pairing, Jackson and Amos, in the fourth and fifth rounds, respectively).

Despite the popular opinion that Clinton-Dix's play deteriorated after the trade to the Redskins past year, his Pro Football Focus grade of 79.3 was actually the best of his career, and 17th-best among safeties in the NFL. Clinton-Dix signed with the Bears on Thursday.

There's also the question of scheme fit. He had 93 tackles, three interceptions, six passes defended and a fumble recovery in 2018.
