Eddie Hearn optimistic over Anthony Joshua-Deontay Wilder deal

Eddie Hearn says he is optimistic about the chances of Anthony Joshua facing Deontay Wilder in a highly anticipated heavyweight unification fight later this year.

Wilder vs Fury 2 won't come to fruition anytime soon, though, as the latter has signed a broadcast deal with ESPN.

WBC heavyweight champion Wilder, 33, and his team met with the DAZN executive John Skipper to discuss a deal with the view of an undisputed championship fight with Joshua.

Novak Djokovic, Kei Nishikori, Simona Halep ousted at Indian Wells
"She was just playing so well and she's such an incredible player", Osaka said of Bencic, who will face No. 5 Karolina Pliskova. The 20th-seeded Muguruza upset seventh-seeded Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4, on Tuesday.

Wilder now holds the heavyweight WBC title and is looking for an opponent after Tyson Fury turned down the opportunity of having a rematch with the American. I think Deontay's comments have led to this chain of events. There's a clear desire from both sides to make the fight.' He added: 'If an undisputed fight gets made, it will be November or December 2019. "We have discussions with people and until we announce I rarely comment on them until we announce, so I don't have anything to announce, so no comment other than we're interested in having the best fights on DAZN and we will put the fights on that people want to see". The contract also calls for GGG Promotions to present two cards per year on DAZN from 2020.

Mike Coppinger of Fox Sports has been all over the business beat when it comes to streaming sports service DAZN and the biggest names in boxing. Wilder turned down an offer from Top Rank last month to fight this spring or early summer for $12.5 million followed by a rematch of his December 1 draw with lineal champion Tyson Fury, who recently signed with Top Rank, for at least $20 million this fall.

Wilder last fought at the venue in March 2018 when he stopped Luis Ortiz in the 10th round.
