U.S., EU Impose New Sanctions On Russia Over Ukraine

The EU, together with Australia, Canada and the U.S., has imposed sanctions on individuals for their role in Russia's use of military force against 3 Ukrainian vessels and their crew in the Kerch Strait and Black Sea in November 2018.

The United States, together with the European Union and Canada, imposed new sanctions on March 15 on more than a dozen Russian officials and businesses in response to the country's "continued aggression in Ukraine".

Canada is also sanctioning a number of individuals and entities responsible for the illegal invasion and ongoing occupation of Crimea and the destabilization of eastern Ukraine.

The United States, the European Union (EU) and Canada imposed new sanctions on Russian Federation over its continued aggression against Ukraine.

"We call upon Russian Federation to immediately return to Ukraine the seized vessels and detained crewmembers, and keep the Kerch Strait and the Sea of Azov open to ships transiting to and from Ukrainian ports", added State Department spokesman Robert Palladino in a statement.
